Subject: Review needed: April sales report Hi Dan,
>

>
We need to send the approved version to the client on Monday morning, so I will use Friday afternoon to make any final changes.

Kind regards, Alex
Why it works
- subject names the document and action;
- the first sentence states the request and deadline;
- the next sentence narrows the review;
- the context explains why the deadline matters;
- the final offer removes a possible blocker.
Actionable language
Could you review the report? is clearer than Could you look at this? Send comments by Friday at 2 p.m. is clearer than Get back to me soon.
Relevant context only
Professional tone
Could you...? Please... Let me know if...
Before sending
Try it yourself
Write a work email of 70–100 words asking a colleague to review a document.
Check: Include a useful subject line, the document and review scope, an exact deadline, one sentence of relevant context and an offer of support.
